| Doug Frolich, the
principle Designer/N.A. at Marshall Yacht Design Inc.,
is a graduate of The Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology.
He has worked in the marine industry since 1984. Doug
is a Member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine
Engineers, and the ABYC.
Marshall Yacht Design was started to focus on the development
of high performance, innovative small craft, both power
and sail. Design achievements include a varied portfolio.
One of his first designs was the Marshall 30, a carbon/epoxy
ultra-light for offshore racing. This was followed by
a 30-foot whaleboat of traditional heavy timber construction.
“Performance is defined by how well a design meets
the mission statement, and that is why the practice
of Yacht Design is so rewarding - it is a unique mixture
of Art, Science and Engineering”. Doug Frolich
and Marshall Yacht Design were named as the winner of
the 2004 Blue water Sailing Magazine Design competition,
for the design of a 45-foot bluewater cruiser that could
be handled by a couple on an extended cruise. Other
design achievements include a 40-foot offshore powerboat
capable of speeds over 100mph, and a trans-Atlantic
rowboat.
Other services include the design of interior components,
deck layouts, keel and rudder designs. Marshall Yacht
Design is committed to the latest tools and technology
such as Rhino, MaxSurf, SolidWorks, Cosmos, and other
proprietary programs. These tools enable us to produce
complete 3D renderings, FEA analysis, and performance
predictions. |
